SAVE MONEY AND TIME

ALL WITH THE SEABIS SYSTEM

The SeaBis System is designed to eliminate marine electrolysis which can lead to devastating corrosion to your vessel. SeaBis measures electrolysis through any metal in contact with water. Equipment is disconnected until SeaBis indicates Normal. The last equipment disconnected was causing electrolysis. SeaBis System comes with a Process of Elimination Instruction Manual. With an easy as 1-2-3 guide, SeaBis is easy to install and will protect your vessel from plug-in. With the SeaBis System you will be hassle free of the worry about electrolysis corrosion to your vessel. By purchasing the SeaBis System you will save yourself from a potential marine electrical bill over a thousand dollars.

Examples of Electrolysis Corrosion:

The photos below are examples of electrolysis corrosion. As you can see the damaging effects caused by electrolysis corrosion. These damaging effects can cost you thousands and thousands of dollars which can be saved instead of spent by purchasing a SeaBis System to protect your vessel. Visit our Products Page to view the SeaBis System and more information on how SeaBis can help protect your vessel.

Electrolysis Corrosion by electrolytic action has two causes:

Galvanic corrosion is caused by the natural voltage between two different metals in a conductor such as fresh or salt water. This never exceeds 1.2 volts. The sacrificial anode, made of zinc for salt water use, is sacrificed to protect the metal it is connected to. The anode will be depleted by electrolytic action, electrolysis, while the metal it is connected to, the cathode, is protected. Termed catholic protection. Galvanic voltage difference is a maximum of 1.2 volts so is at a very very low level compared to the electrolysis corrosion we are only too familiar with. A 1 kilogram block of zinc produces 1 millionth of an amp of good current. So is easily swamped by electrolysis corrosion.

Electrolysis corrosion is 1,000 to 10,000 greater ferocity than galvanic corrosion. It is generated by the vessels wet metal being at battery voltage of 12 or 24 volts, the seabed being at 1 volt and other vessel/s a third voltage. It flows between the vessel, seabed, other vessels and moorings. Electrolysis corrosion can only be measured then eliminated by the SeaBis System.

Causes of electrolysis corrosion:

1. Batteries on vessels within 150 meters and the seabed create electrolysis 24 hours every day, permanently. They are by far the greatest source of electrolysis. SeaBis and Process of Elimination instructions, will protect your vessel from electrolysis corrosion.

2. Shore mains AC connection creating a DC path between boats, is only present while at least two vessels are actually plugged into shore mains and the SeaBis System not used. When SeaBis System is applied the hull, engine and all wet metal are open circuit (in home terms the electrical plus is puled out of the wall socket). No electrolysis can occur.
